Warhounds on GOG
Choose how to install.

Warhounds is available on GOG for Windows. Its store page confirms DRM-free play and an offline installer; GOG Galaxy is optional. Choose the standalone route if you want to install and launch without Galaxy, or use the client for its supported online features.

WHAT EACH ROUTE DOES

Local play or client features?

GOG lists achievements and cloud saves for Warhounds and describes Galaxy as the optional client for their synchronization. If those features matter to you, choose Galaxy; if launching the game without a client is your priority, use the offline files.

Warhounds jungle combat with a squad, mission objective and movement preview — Official Steam screenshot, reused as gameplay context. It is not a GOG installer screenshot or a comparison of store builds.

WITHOUT GALAXY

Download the offline setup.

1 · Open your library: Sign in to your GOG account in a browser and select Warhounds from your owned games.
2 · Get the setup files: Expand “Download offline backup game installers” and download all required setup files. Keep any accompanying data files with the installer; the small executable alone may not be the whole download.
3 · Install and launch: Open the downloaded setup executable and complete installation. Then launch the installed game from its shortcut or executable. Galaxy is not required for this route.
Already using Galaxy?: GOG’s backup-download instructions put the available downloads under the game’s Extras button. That is separate from starting a normal client installation.

WITH GALAXY

Install from your game library.

In Galaxy, open your GOG games, select Warhounds and choose Install. Select the destination folder, then Continue. The installation progress replaces the install control; wait for completion before launching.

KEEP THE ROUTES DISTINCT

Updates need a separate check.

Client updates: Galaxy can automatically update GOG games when that feature is enabled. Downloading offline setup files is not the same as enabling client-managed updates.
Store build parity: Our patch history follows the developer’s Steam announcements. It does not verify the build currently offered in your GOG library or prove that two stores received a patch at the same time.

BEFORE YOU COMMIT

Check the machine and the edition.

Windows requirements: GOG’s current listing specifies Windows 10/11, 85 GB available storage and 8 GB VRAM at both hardware tiers. Compare the CPU and GPU names using our PC requirements table; choosing a different storefront does not establish better performance.
Existing campaign: Cross-store save transfer has not been verified here. If you are changing editions, keep a separate backup of the existing campaign before experimenting. The save-folder guide explains how to preserve the paired save files; it is not a transfer guarantee.
